HAVRE CHRISTIAN ELEMENTARY SCHOOL HANDBOOK

III. ADMISSION INFORMATION

A. Who should apply?

The school welcomes all those who are in full sympathy with Christian values and will cheerfully endeavor to support the objectives upon which the school is operated.

B. Age requirements:

No child will be accepted into grade 1 who will not be six years of age by October first and who has not passed a prescribed readiness test.  Kindergarten will be open to five year olds.

C. Placement Policy:

The school reserves the right to give entrance and qualifying tests to assist in placing the student in a study program compatible with the student’s ability and achievement.

D. Physical Exams:

Physical examinations are required for all new students and for students entering grades 4 and 7. Students at any grade may be asked to take a physical examination. These examinations are to be administered by a qualified person of the parent’s choice. The school provides the exam forms. Immunizations must include a 2nd MMR booster and tetanus shot before entering 7th grade as required by Montana State law.

E. Applications and transfers:

When a student transfers to our school, the parent/guardian is to complete a transfer of records form which is provided by the school. When the student transfers from our school to another school, the parent/guardians should notify the teacher and the school administration.

F. Financial arrangements:

A financial agreement must be made and signed between the parents/guardians and the school before a student will be accepted.

G. Acceptance

All applications will be reviewed and acted on by the school board. Acceptance is at the school board’s discretion.
