HAVRE CHRISTIAN ELEMENTARY SCHOOL HANDBOOK
VII. DISCIPLINE
It is the belief of the school’s administration that meaningful discipline
is vital for the achievement of quality education and productive character
development. At any function of the school whether on campus or not, the
teacher has disciplinary authority. Discipline will be administered in a
loving and Christ-like manner. Parent/Guardians are encouraged to work closely
with the teacher, and will be consulted if serious problems develop. Recurring
disciplinary problems will be reviewed by the school board and appropriate
action will be taken. Expulsion is at the school board’s discretion;
nevertheless, the principal, after consultation with the parents/guardians,
may suspend a student from school for up to three days without specific
board action. After expulsion, any request for readmission should be
directed to the school board, which will meet with the parents/guardians
and the
student to determine if readmission would be appropriate.
